CloudBolt Provides Blackboard Cloud Services Team with Robust Management Tools

CloudBolt’s flagship cloud management platform helps seamlessly manage private cloud environments offered by Blackboard’s Cloud Services Team.

Reston, Virginia – September 23, 2014. CloudBolt has been handpicked by Blackboard’s Cloud Services team to help manage the company’s large enterprise private cloud environment.

“We’re excited to be working with CloudBolt,” says Blackboard’s Director of Cloud Services Infrastructure, Al DeGregorio. “CloudBolt’s solution is the best-of-breed of the various alternatives we investigated.  Given our large and complex environment, we determined that CloudBolt provided us with the most powerful and compelling solution that also represented the lowest TCO of any of the products we evaluated,” said DeGregorio. He continued: “Once we determined CloudBolt was the solution for us, we had thousands of servers under management in just a few days.”

Blackboard’s Cloud Services Infrastructure team provides Infrastructure-as-a-Service offerings to the company’s product development teams, corporate IT as well as hosting services to customers that prefer hosted access to the company’s market-leading education technology solutions.

“Blackboard’s Cloud Services environment is large and complex,” says CloudBolt’s EVP of Marketing, Justin Nemmers. “Despite the complexities, our initial proof-of-concept was complete in an astounding two and a half days.” Nemmers continued: “It’s my understanding that in addition to the evaluated competition’s higher total cost of ownership, CloudBolt was the only tool that effectively integrated out-of-the-box with Blackboard’s existing technology environment, presenting their existing resources as private cloud to their broad and demanding customer base. CloudBolt also provides them the flexibility to make future architecture decisions without disrupting their end users,” concluded Nemmers.

CloudBolt has been rapidly expanding its enterprise footprint with customers across a variety of markets, including the US Government, managed service providers, public universities, and global retail giants.  Adding to their string of successes, CloudBolt was also selected as a Gartner Cool Vendor in Cloud Management earlier this year.
